Imani DuBois
Ms. DuBois attended Sheltering Arms 15 years ago. She is now a successful student athlete at Lehman College in Bronx, New York. She is pursuing a career in healthcare. When her father found Sheltering Arms so many years ago, he faced the challenges of a complex visitation schedule. The Sheltering Arms staff embraced Imani and provided support to Mr. DuBois during those challenging times. "Their dedication and sensitivity to embracing Imani at a tender age allowed me to function at work knowing my daughter was in a safe, nurturing, learning environment."

Precious Briana Person
Precious Person attended the Cornelia Moore Center. She is a recent graduate of Charles Drew High School in Riverdale and was recognized as an honor student. She was the first student in the school’s history to receive a full scholarship to a Division I School for Women’s Basketball. Ms. Person will attend Rutgers University in Fall 2012 and will be coached by the legendary Vivian Stringer. Congratulations Ms. Person! |

Kaylynn, Kendall, Kena, Kingston Parks
All four Parks children attended Sheltering Arms and all four take their academics seriously. Kaylynn (oldest) is currently attending a charter school where she started a reading club. Kendall (green shirt) is enrolled in the gifted program at her school. All four Parks children are on the Honor Roll at their respective schools. Congratulations Parks family!

Joshua & Cristian attended the Dorothy Arkwright Center. They have been members of the Principal's Honor Roll and Honor Roll since entering school.

Justin Salgado
Justin attended the International Village Center in Chamblee. This Spring, he graduated from Chamblee High School. He is taking college courses and will enter the U.S. Marine Corps in February 2013. We could not be more proud of Justin! |

Dan & Jordan Sims
Congratulations to Dan Sims of Tri Cities High School. Mr. Sims was named Principal of the Year for Fulton County School System. Mr. Sims was one of the leaders for the East Point All Pro Dads which brought awareness and resources to fathers in the community. Mr. Sims volunteered with the All Pro Dads because of its focus on the early years. "That's when you can really make the biggest difference in your child's life." His son, Jordan, was one of the first toddlers enrolled at our East Point Center. Congratulations Mr. Sims. |

LaQuoia Byrd
Ms. Byrd recently graduated from Savannah State University where she majored in History and minored in Dance. She intends to go to graduate school and eventually become a history teacher. Ms. Byrd attended both our Cornelia Moore and Dorothy Arkwright Centers. She was one of the first infants enrolled in our Dorothy Arkwright Center. Congratulations Ms. Byrd! |

Chris Robinson
Chris attended our Longview Center in Douglasville. He is now 23 years old and has returned to Longview as a teacher. He works in classroom 9 with the same teacher who taught him so many years ago, Mrs. Ruthie. They still joke about Chris walking in the door on his first day of school 20 years ago and giving Mrs. Ruthie a big smile. |

Mikhi Lewis
Mikhi is a member of the Honor Roll and was "Rocket of the Month" in April for his class at Austin Road Elementary School. He also won an award for reading the most books in his class. Way to go Mikhi! |

Kate Kubik
Kate won the 2012 Principal's Award at Midvale Elementary for oustanding academics, leadership and character. She also received the 2012 Monte Beech Award given by the her 5th grade classmates for characteristics best exemplifying the International Baccalaureate program. She won best sociology project at the DeKalb County Social Studies Fair. With her troop, she recently received the highest award for Junior Girl Scouts with a literacy project completed at Sheltering Arms.

Jared Kubik
Jared has represented both Midvale Elementary and Tucker Middle School in the DeKalb County Social Studies Fair. He finished first in his age group in last fall’s Race for Grace 5k Run. |

Taylor and Morgan are both Honor Roll students at the Department of Defense School for Children in Germany. "My grandchildren are both on the honor roll for the second year. I believe it's because they had a very good beginning as grads of Sheltering Arms."
